Gabriele Wagner was born in Nürnberg, Germany. At the age of 11 years, she moved to Johannesburg and eventually settled in Port Elizabeth for several years.

Most recently, Gaby has moved to Durban.

Her passion for art was consistent, and whilst raising her four sons, Gaby traveled extensively, eager to absorb the sights, scents and senses of different cultures around the world - drawing inspiration from all the people she had met, Gaby turned to mosaicing.

Completely self-taught, and finding her creativity from her strong European background and love for Albrecht Dürer and Antoni Gaudí, Gaby established Gabriele Mosaic Art in 2006.

Starting with mirrors and decorative pieces, Gaby has successfully mastered her skills to complete large commissions such as The Langa Memorial in Uitenhage, a mammoth four month project, Gondwana Cafe and House of Tiles in Port Elizabeth - to name but a few.

Every piece is unique and original, from Victorian to retro to classic and many different surfaces have been used as the canvass to a piece of art.
